Something I made: Pasta Salad.

Please don't steal my pictures! :)
What you need:

  • A cup full of good quality pasta (boiled)
  • A cup of red/green/yellow bell peppers.(Blanched)
How to boil pasta:

Boil about 3-4 cups of water in a pan. Add a generous helping of salt to the water. (It should be veryyy salty!) Throw in the pasta and cook till Al-dente.(It shouldn't be boiled to death! But just cooked to the extent that it isn't raw, but has a "bite")
Drain the pasta and keep.

How to blanch the peppers:

Cut the peppers any way you want. :D
Now heat some water in a pan. It shouldn't be boiling hot!
In another pan, put lots of ice-cubes and fridge cold water. It should be very cold.

Put the cut pieces into hot water. Drain after they've soaked for 30 seconds or so. And dunk them into the cold water!

Blanching's done!

For the White sauce:
  • A cup of milk.
  • 1 tsp of corn-starch.
  • A whisk
  • A heavy bottomed pan.
  • 1 tsp of Olive oil.
  • 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Mixed herbs.
  • Salt and pepper to taste!

Method:
  1. Heat the heavy bottomed pan.
  2. Pour the oil.
  3. Mix cold milk and corn starch powder. Its essential to do this cold or else you'll end up with goop!
  4. Pour this mixture into the pan and whisk away.
  5. Take care not to burn it.
  6. As soon as you see it thickening, remove from heat, add cheese and seasonings.Don't forget the salt and pepper!
Now for the final bit!
Mix the sauce and the cold pasta and bell peppers.

Top it up with some Salami as I've done and Dig In!

Hope you liked it :D
